The Position

The NP participates as a team member in the provision of health and medical care, interacting with professional colleagues to provide comprehensive care.
The NP maintains accurate, legible and confidential records.
The NP participates in continuous quality review, including systematic review of medical and other records and treatment plans on a periodic basis, maintains current knowledge by attending continuing education programs.

The NP must maintain a current Furnishing Number and a DEA. All prescriptions not included in the NP Furnishing Formulary shall be authorized by the collaborative physician.

Essential duties:

  • Round on inpatients in the hospital and discharge patients as needed
  • See consults as requested in the hospital throughout the day
  • Admit patients to the hospital at the request of the attending MD
  • Respond to hospital calls as needed
  • Patient teaching including post procedure care and medication instruction
  • Manage clinical patient phone calls
  • See cardiac patients independently or with a physician in the office.
  • Patient visits in the office as needed urgently
  • Fill out all pharmacy refill requests
  • Review remote device transmissions  


  • Graduation from a Nurse Practitioner Program approved by the Board of Registered Nursing.
  • Certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
  • Current unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license issued by the State of California.
  • Minimum three years clinical nursing experience, preferably acute care.
  • Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) Certificate.
  • Furnishing number issued by the Board of Registered Nursing (BRN)
